Even though I haven't had a steady income for over a month now, I've still bought more clothing in that time than I have in the last year or more. I don't know what's prompted my desire to buy new things. It could be the simple fact that everything I own and wear is getting pretty worn out--no pun intended. The only disappointment with new things is wanting people to see them. Being stranded at home doesn't help.I woke up before my alarm today, at around 9:20 in the morning, and I just couldn't manage to get back to sleep. Normally, if I wake up this early, my body commands me to return to a state of slumber until at least noon--not so this time around. In fact, this isn't the first time in the last week or two where I just couldn't manage to get back to sleep, even though I didn't go to bed until around four-o-clock in the morning. I think it's the sudden drop in temperature.
Being up early, in my opinion, is the best way to start a productive day. However, on a Friday, any concept of productivity goes completely out the window--just by default. It's amazing I even realized it was Friday today, but a call from Steve at Michael's helped establish a reasonable time frame in my otherwise timeless state of unemployment. I have hours at work next week, and Lindsey bought me a black polo shirt and some khaki colored corduroy pants so that I can at least reasonably meet the store's new dress code policies. The shirt is a little grey, and the pants aren't technically khakis, but I'm hoping Steve overlooks these issues and just lets me slide. It's hard to find khaki pants that I'd even be comfortable working in. If you recall, I like my pants to fit tight.
Spent some time hanging out with Dustin and Chris tonight. Adam invited me to see a movie, but I can never pass up an opportunity to spend some time with the guys. It's been a while since I've gotten to talk to Chris, and today I FINALLY got to see his new house in Wappingers. He and Nikki are really blessed, and I had to mention that the bannisters in their home are going to be picture perfect for Christmas time--when the kids come out of their rooms to see the presents downstairs. Wii is a good way to pass time with friends, and it was nice to see Nikki and Lena before I left to pick up Lindsey at the train station.
Speaking of which, I've got a wonderful girl waiting for me to finish this blog, so I think I'll stop here, and fill you in on the rest tomorrow!
God bless and goodnight!
